David Livingstone
David Livingstone was a nineteenth-century Scottish missionary and explorer who spent decades in Africa, becoming famous for his expeditions into the continent's interior.
His encounter with journalist Henry Morton Stanley produced the legendary greeting Dr. Livingstone, I presume? —now used humorously when finding someone after a long search.
