slave traders
Dealers in people
Slave traders are people who buy and sell human beings as property.
The term most often refers to those who participated in the Atlantic slave trade from the 16th through 19th centuries, capturing or purchasing Africans and transporting them to the Americas.
The slave traders anchored their ships in the harbor.
The practice continues illegally today as human trafficking.
