Gospel
Christian salvation message
Gospel has two connected meanings rooted in "good news." The Gospels are the four New Testament accounts of Jesus's life and teachings—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
From this comes the broader sense: any doctrine or message accepted as unquestionably true.
She took his word as gospel.
Gospel music is the African American sacred tradition blending spirituals with blues and jazz. (Lowercase gospel refers to truth or the music genre.)
