Celsius
Zero freezes water
Celsius is a temperature scale where water freezes at 0 degrees and boils at 100 degrees at sea level.
It is the standard measure in most of the world and in scientific contexts: The forecast calls for highs around 30 Celsius.
Americans, accustomed to Fahrenheit, often struggle to intuit Celsius readings.
Also called centigrade.
