Marie Curie

Marie Curie was a Polish-born French physicist and chemist who pioneered research on radioactivity—a term she coined.

She was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, the first person to win Nobel Prizes in two different sciences (physics and chemistry), and the first female professor at the University of Paris.

Her discoveries of polonium and radium transformed understanding of atomic structure.

Marie Curie's notebooks remain radioactive a century later.
