Afro-Arab

Two-region cultural blend

Afro-Arab describes people, cultures, or identities that blend African and Arab heritage.

The term applies particularly to populations in North Africa, the Sahel, and coastal East Africa where these influences have mixed over centuries: Afro-Arab communities along the Swahili coast.

It may also describe someone with both African and Arab ancestry: She identifies as Afro-Arab.
