Arabian Peninsula sultanate
Oman is a country on the southeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula, bordered by the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen.
An absolute monarchy ruled by a sultan, Oman controls the strategic Strait of Hormuz at the entrance to the Persian Gulf.
