Nubian
From upper Egypt
Nubian refers to the people, language, and culture of Nubia, a region along the Nile in southern Egypt and northern Sudan.
The Nubian kingdoms were among Africa's earliest civilizations.
As an adjective, Nubian describes things from this region: Nubian art, Nubian architecture.
In informal use, Nubian sometimes appears as an affectionate or poetic term for Black people, particularly in African American contexts: Nubian queen, Nubian prince.
