100-400mm
Long zoom lens
A zoom lens range commonly used in photography, spanning from 100mm to 400mm focal length—the telephoto territory ideal for wildlife, sports, and distant subjects.
The designation appears on camera lenses and in photography discussions: I'm bringing my 100-400mm for the safari.
The millimeter measurement indicates focal length, with higher numbers producing greater magnification and narrower field of view.
