woolly rhinoceros

Ice Age beast

The woolly rhinoceros was a large, shaggy-coated rhinoceros that roamed northern Eurasia during the Ice Age.

Like the woolly mammoth, it was adapted to cold climates with thick fur and a massive build.

It went extinct roughly ten thousand years ago, though preserved specimens have been found frozen in permafrost.
