whiteouts
Zero visibility storms
Whiteouts are weather conditions where blowing snow or fog reduces visibility to near zero, making horizon and ground indistinguishable.
The term also applies to correction fluid for covering typed or written errors, now largely obsolete with digital editing.
In medicine, a whiteout can be temporary vision loss or a brief loss of consciousness, as from standing too quickly.
