tripolar
Three magnetic extremes
Tripolar describes something with three poles or extremities.
In geopolitics, a tripolar world has three dominant powers rather than two (bipolar) or one (unipolar): Some analysts predict a tripolar order among the US, China, and the EU.
In electronics and physics, tripolar refers to systems with three electrodes or magnetic poles.
In psychiatry, tripolar sometimes informally describes mood disorders that don't fit neatly into bipolar categories.
