Lacking directional alignment
Unpolarized describes light or other electromagnetic radiation whose waves vibrate in multiple random directions rather than in a single plane.
Most natural light sources, like the sun or a lightbulb, emit unpolarized light.
The term also applies to situations lacking division into opposing camps: The issue remains unpolarized, with voters scattered across the spectrum rather than clustered at extremes.
