transactional
Based on exchange
Transactional describes interactions or relationships focused primarily on an exchange of value rather than on deeper connection or commitment.
A transactional relationship is one where each party is mainly concerned with what they get out of it.
In business contexts, transactional simply refers to individual transactions: transactional data, transactional processing.
When applied to personal relationships, the word often carries a negative connotation, suggesting coldness or calculation where warmth might be expected.
