concurrency
Multiple threads running
Concurrency is the ability to handle multiple tasks during overlapping time periods.
In computing, concurrent processes share resources and may run simultaneously or take turns—the key is that several things are in progress at once, even if only one executes at any instant.
The bug only appears under heavy concurrency.
Traffic, queuing systems, and multitasking all involve concurrency.
The word also has a legal sense: concurrent jurisdiction means multiple courts have authority over the same matter.
