tow truck

Disabled vehicle transport

A tow truck is a vehicle equipped to haul disabled or illegally parked cars.

The basic design features a boom or flatbed for lifting and transporting vehicles that can't move under their own power: We had to call a tow truck when the engine seized.

Also called a wrecker.
