topstitching
Decorative edge sewing
Topstitching is a line of stitching visible on the outer surface of a garment or fabric item, sewn parallel to a seam or edge for decorative effect or reinforcement.
It appears on jeans pockets, jacket lapels, and leather goods.
The stitching is typically done in thread that matches or deliberately contrasts with the fabric: The orange topstitching gave the denim a classic workwear look.
