edgestitch
Seam near fold
Edgestitch is a line of stitching sewn very close to a folded edge or seam, typically within an eighth of an inch.
It secures layers flat, adds crispness to collars and cuffs, and creates a clean, professional finish: She edgestitched the waistband to keep it from rolling.
As a verb, to edgestitch is to sew such a line.
