tomograph
Sectional imaging device
A tomograph is a machine that produces cross-sectional images of the body or other objects by combining multiple X-ray or other scans taken from different angles.
The technique, called tomography, allows viewing internal structures without surgery: The tomograph revealed a small tumor in the lung.
CT scanners and MRI machines are modern tomographs.
