tetrominoes

Tetris game pieces

Tetrominoes is the plural of tetromino—a geometric shape made of four squares joined edge to edge.

The seven distinct tetrominoes (I, O, T, S, Z, J, L) are the falling pieces in Tetris, where players rotate and position them to complete horizontal lines.

The term comes from combining "tetra" (four) with "domino."
