polyominoes
Connected square tile-sets
Polyominoes is the plural of polyomino, a geometric shape formed by joining unit squares edge to edge.
The domino (two squares) gives the family its name; larger members include tetrominoes (four squares, familiar from Tetris) and pentominoes (five squares).
Polyominoes appear in recreational mathematics, puzzles, and tiling problems: She sorted the polyominoes by how many squares each contained.
