back-to-back
One after another
Back-to-back describes things occurring in immediate succession without interruption: back-to-back meetings, back-to-back championships.
The image is of items lined up so closely their backs touch.
It also describes a literal positioning—two people or objects facing opposite directions with their backs together: They stood back-to-back, watching both ends of the alley.
