tepee

Conical pole tent

A tepee is a conical tent traditionally used by Indigenous peoples of the North American Plains, made of animal skins or canvas stretched over a frame of wooden poles.

The design allows smoke from interior fires to escape through an opening at the top.

Also spelled teepee or tipi.
