travois
Pole-and-platform hauler
A travois is a simple transport device traditionally used by Plains Indians, consisting of two trailing poles attached to a dog or horse, with a platform or netting stretched between them to carry loads.
The frame dragged along the ground, making it effective for moving camp supplies, belongings, or injured people across terrain where wheeled vehicles wouldn't work.
The hunting party loaded the elk meat onto a travois for the journey back to camp.
