takeback

Retracted statement afterward

A takeback is the act of reclaiming something previously given or said.

In chess and other games, it's a do-over—retracting a move your opponent allows you to undo: Can I get a takeback? I didn't see your bishop.

In retail, a takeback is a returned item or the policy allowing returns.

The word also describes programs for reclaiming products: medication takeback events, electronics takeback.
