repudiation
Outright denial of
Repudiation is the act of rejecting or refusing to accept something—a claim, an obligation, a belief, or a relationship.
A government might issue a repudiation of the treaty.
In contract law, repudiation occurs when one party indicates they won't fulfill their obligations, allowing the other to seek remedies.
The word carries a sense of formal, emphatic rejection rather than casual dismissal.
