superspeedway

Massive oval circuit

A superspeedway is a high-speed oval racetrack, typically over two miles long, used primarily for NASCAR and other stock car racing.

The term distinguishes these massive facilities from shorter ovals: Daytona and Talladega are the two most famous superspeedways.

The banked turns and long straightaways allow sustained speeds exceeding 200 mph.
