hillclimb
Steep slope competition
A hillclimb is a motorsport competition where vehicles race individually against the clock up a steep, winding course—typically a closed public road or purpose-built track on a hillside.
The format tests both driver skill and vehicle power against gravity: She set a new course record at the hillclimb.
As a verb, to hillclimb is to participate in such events or, more generally, to drive or ride up steep terrain.
