superman
Person of transcendence
A superman is a person of extraordinary ability or achievement—someone who seems to transcend normal human limitations: He thinks he's some kind of superman who doesn't need sleep.
The term derives from Nietzsche's philosophical concept of the Übermensch, an ideal superior being who creates his own values beyond conventional morality.
In casual use, it often carries irony, applied to men who overestimate their capabilities. (Capitalized Superman is the comic book superhero.)
