Infected lid bump
A stye is a small, painful, inflamed swelling on the edge of an eyelid, caused by a bacterial infection of a gland or hair follicle.
It typically appears as a red bump resembling a pimple and may fill with pus before draining and healing on its own.
I woke up with a stye that made my eye look swollen.
The spelling sty is also used.
