styes
Painful lid lumps
Styes is the plural of stye, a painful red bump on the eyelid caused by a blocked oil gland or bacterial infection.
Styes form near the base of eyelashes and resemble small pimples: I've been getting styes from rubbing my eyes too much.
They typically heal on their own within a week or two.
