pink eye
Crusty, itchy lids
Pink eye is conjunctivitis—inflammation of the membrane covering the white of the eye and inner eyelids.
The condition makes eyes red, itchy, and often crusty with discharge.
Pink eye spreads easily, especially among children, and typically clears within a week or two: Half the class was out with pink eye.
