steno
Dictation-taking professional
Steno is short for stenographer or stenography—the practice of writing in shorthand to transcribe speech at speaking speed.
Court reporters and secretaries were traditionally called stenos: The steno took down every word of the deposition.
A steno pad is a spiral-bound notebook designed for shorthand notes.
