stenograph
Court reporter's tool
A stenograph is a machine for writing in shorthand, using a specialized keyboard that allows court reporters and transcriptionists to record speech at speaking speed.
The operator, a stenographer, presses multiple keys simultaneously to represent sounds or syllables rather than individual letters.
To stenograph is to record using such a machine: She stenographed the entire deposition.
