spacemen
Crew beyond atmosphere
Spacemen is the plural of spaceman—a person who travels in space, or a being imagined to come from elsewhere in the universe.
The word has an old-fashioned, pulpy feel, evoking mid-century science fiction: The spacemen landed their flying saucer in a cornfield.
Astronaut and cosmonaut have largely replaced it for actual space travelers.
