earthmen

Humans, cosmically speaking

Earthmen is the plural of earthman, a word used almost exclusively in science fiction to denote human beings from Earth, typically from the perspective of extraterrestrials or in contrast to inhabitants of other planets: The Martians regarded the earthmen with suspicion.

The term carries a mid-twentieth-century flavor, largely replaced by gender-neutral alternatives like earthlings or humans.
