landlubbers
Non-sailors, mockingly termed
Landlubbers is the plural of landlubber—a person unfamiliar with the sea or sailing.
The term comes from nautical slang, combining land with lubber (a clumsy person).
Sailors use it dismissively for those who lack sea legs or maritime knowledge: The landlubbers turned green the moment we hit open water.
