landlocked
No coastal access
Landlocked describes a place entirely surrounded by land, with no access to the sea: Bolivia and Paraguay are South America's only landlocked countries.
The term extends to bodies of water cut off from larger ones: a landlocked bay, landlocked salmon (populations trapped in freshwater lakes).
Figuratively, it suggests being hemmed in or isolated from broader connections.
