separationism
Advocating group independence
Separationism is the advocacy or policy of separation between groups—whether racial, religious, ethnic, or political.
The term usually describes movements seeking independence or autonomy from a larger entity: Quebec separationism, Kurdish separationism.
It can also refer to the principle of church-state separation: strict separationism in constitutional law.
The word carries more ideological weight than simple "separation," implying an organized stance or movement.
