seasonal affective disorder

Sunlight-deprivation mood syndrome

Seasonal affective disorder is a form of depression that recurs at the same time each year, typically during fall and winter when daylight hours are shortest.

Symptoms include low energy, oversleeping, and changes in appetite.

Light therapy, which mimics natural sunlight, is a common treatment.

Often abbreviated SAD.
