anhedonia
Joy's complete absence
Anhedonia is the inability to feel pleasure from activities that would normally be enjoyable.
It's a clinical term describing a core symptom of depression and certain other mental health conditions: The anhedonia was worst in the mornings—coffee tasted like nothing, music annoyed her.
Someone experiencing anhedonia may go through the motions of life without deriving satisfaction from any of it.
