rose window
Circular church window
A rose window is a large circular window, typically found in Gothic cathedrals, with stone tracery radiating from the center in patterns resembling flower petals.
These elaborate stained-glass windows often depict biblical scenes or geometric designs: The north rose window at Notre-Dame dates to the thirteenth century.
