panes
Sheets in sashes
Panes is the plural of pane, a sheet of glass fitted into a window or door frame.
A single window may contain multiple panes: The old farmhouse had windows with twelve panes each.
By extension, pane applies to any flat section within a larger surface—a panel in a door, or a rectangular area in a software interface: Drag the file to the left pane.
