spokes
Hub-to-rim connectors
Spokes are the thin rods or bars radiating from the hub of a wheel to its rim, providing structural support.
Bicycle wheels, wagon wheels, and steering wheels all have spokes.
Figuratively, spokes can describe anything radiating outward from a center: The trails spread out like spokes from the visitor center.
Spokes is also the past tense of speak, though this form sounds archaic or dialectal: He spokes not a word.
