rhymer
Composer of couplets
A rhymer is someone who writes verse, especially light or simple poetry.
The term often carries a dismissive edge, suggesting competence without real artistry—a versifier rather than a true poet: He was a capable rhymer but no Shakespeare.
Also spelled rhymester.
