tale-teller

One who narrates

A tale-teller is someone who tells tales—either a storyteller who entertains with narratives, or someone who spreads gossip and rumors.

The second sense carries a note of disapproval: Don't believe everything you hear from that tale-teller.

Children who report others' misbehavior to adults are sometimes called tale-tellers, synonymous with tattletale.
