disinheritance
Cut from will
Disinheritance is the act of cutting someone out of an inheritance, or the state of being cut out.
A parent might threaten disinheritance to control a child's behavior: She lived in fear of disinheritance if she married outside the faith.
The term extends beyond wills to any deprivation of expected legacy or birthright.
