bondholders

Fixed-income investors

Bondholders are investors who own bonds—debt securities issued by governments or corporations.

When you buy a bond, you're lending money to the issuer in exchange for interest payments and eventual return of principal.

Bondholders are creditors, not owners, so in bankruptcy they're paid before shareholders but have no voting rights: Bondholders will receive sixty cents on the dollar.
