commutative
Sequence doesn't matter
Commutative describes operations where the order of elements doesn't affect the result.
Addition is commutative: 3 + 5 equals 5 + 3.
Multiplication is commutative.
Subtraction and division are not—order matters.
The term appears primarily in mathematics and logic: the commutative property of addition.
