reabsorption
Bodily fluid reclamation
Reabsorption is the process of absorbing something again after it has been released or filtered out.
The term appears most often in physiology, where the kidneys reabsorb water, glucose, and other substances from filtered blood back into the bloodstream: Kidney reabsorption prevents the loss of essential nutrients.
The concept extends to any system that reclaims what was previously expelled or separated.
